With a footprint in 11 states and major cities throughout the Central Region of the United States, some Liberty roots date back all the way to 1894 with our Tuskegee branch acquisition. The bank was first chartered on the campus of Tuskegee University as the Tuskegee Cooperative Building and Loan Association by then university president Booker T. Washington.
Other preserved Liberty Bank locations in Memphis, Detroit and Kansas City all provided stability and support to their local communities throughout the struggle for civil rights. As for New Orleans and the Southern Region, we helped the resilient people of this area rebuild after the oil busts of the 1980s and hurricanes, Katrina, and Ida.
